Atmospheric Transmission for Airborne & Ground-Based IR Observing
Observatory Altitude ?Maximum 59,999 ft (≈ 18,288 m). Toggle ft / m to enter the altitude in either unit.
Observatory Latitude ?Selects the ATRAN ozone profile. Only these preset latitudes are supported by the model.
Zenith Water Vapor Overburden ?0 = use the model-predicted value for this altitude/latitude. µm
Number of Atmospheric Layers ?Usually 2. Up to 5 supported.
Zenith Angle ?Angle between zenith and line of sight, 0–89°. deg
Wavelength Range ?Minimum 0.85 µm. Wavelengths are in vacuum. µm, vacuum
Emission Line Overlay ?Marks the line centre and adds an upper velocity axis. Pick a preset line or type a custom rest wavelength (µm, vacuum). Redshift z shifts it — a negative z is a blueshift.
Total Ozone ?-1 : use the selected ozone profile as is. Any other positive value specifies the total ozone column density (in Dobson Units, DU) from the Observatory Altitude to the top of the atmosphere by scaling the ozone content of the selected ozone profile accordingly. DU
Molecular species ?Uncheck to exclude a molecule from the model. All included by default.
Plot mode ?“Species Breakdown” runs each included species on its own and overlays them, so you can see which molecule absorbs where.
